The Santo Domingo Yacht Club announced the celebration of the 35th Alberto Bonetti Burgos International Fishing Tournament. This is the most important sport-fishing event held annually in the DR. It will take place 10-15 June. The Santo Domingo yacht club facilities at Cabeza de Toro near Punta Cana will be used. This year’s prizes include a Jaguar and RD$1 million cash prize. The Jaguar will go to the fisherman that captures the heaviest white marlin (over 139 lbs.), and the million will go to the fisherman who catches the heaviest white marlin weighing over 120 lbs. Other prizes include sculptures and fishing equipment. The largest delegation coming from abroad is that of Puerto Rico, with 30 boats registered. Teams are also coming from Costa Rica and Venezuela.
