Hurricane links

Most storms affecting the DR develop in the Atlantic Ocean near Africa and take about two weeks to reach the Caribbean Basin. Thus, there is ample lead-time which enables those that could be affected to closely track the hurricanes. In this age of the Internet this is easy to do.As the hurricane season develops, DR1 will be providing updated information and links to sites that feature comprehensive coverage. For the time being, save a link to these sites that have been especially helpful in providing updated information: http://stormcarib.com (specializing in tracking hurricanes that could affect the Caribbean) http://www.weather.com (The Weather Channel) http://www.intellicast.com (excellent maps) http://www.usatoday.com/weather/huricane/whur0.htm http://www.gopbi.com/weather/storm/ http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/ http://weather.gov/ http://www.usatoday.com/weather/wfront.htm http://www.ghcc.msfc.nasa.gov/GOES/ http://www.nlmoc.navy.mil/home1.shtml
