The PRSC is standing behind the candidacy of Amable Aristy Castro at the helm of the Dominican Municipal League, the organization that channels funds to city governments. But Julio Mariñez of the PRD feels he has a chance at getting the post now that the PRD will be in power starting August 2000. Mariñez aspired to the post, but a coalition of the PRSC and the PLD impeded him getting it in 1998.
