Fernández administration built 51,276 housing units

El Siglo reports that the Fernandez administration invested RD$2,000 million in 83 housing projects managed by the Instituto Nacional de la Vivienda. This permitted the completion of 51,276 houses, 39,845 of which were part of the repairs and construction program to benefit families that lost their dwellings due to Hurricane Georges that hit in September 1998. Hurricane Georges victims’ homes were part of a RD$975.7 million program. The INVI leaves 28,618 units under construction.
