The Partido de la Liberación Dominicana says that if they are the "comesolos", the Partido Revolucionario Dominicano should be known as the "cometodos". PLD secretary general José Tomás Pérez made the comment in reference to the ambitions of the political party to control all state institutions. The PRD has majority in the Junta Central Electoral, Congress, and as of 16 August, the Executive Branch. Recently, PRD spokesmen Franco Badía and Rafael Suberví said that the party is in favor of modifying the present law that regulates the telecommunications ruling agency, INDOTEL in order to control radio and television stations, too. The PLD administration recently appointed a new chief executive. By law, that person would remain in the post for four years. But the PRD opposes this and wants to appoint their own man for which they would have to change the law.
