According to a press wire from EFE Spanish news agency, Miguel Vargas Maldonado could be appointed the new Minister of Transport. The Ministry of Transport is a project that has not yet reached Congress. Hamlet Hermann, the present incumbent of the Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMET) has proposed the creation of the Ministry of Transport to consolidate government agencies involved with transportation. The Spanish agency wire is dated in Rome. Vargas Maldonado accompanied Mejía on his trip to Europe.
