El Siglo reports that President-elect Hipólito Mejía said in Spain, where he was as part of a European tour, that he would convene the National Congress next year to introduce reforms to the Constitutions open discussions. An Asamblea Nacional Revisora would study the reforms. He said that the idea is to make the Constitution a modern document, but that this would be carried out with the consensus of national sectors in order to fulfill objectives of justice and development.
