"Dreaming of Julia" is being filmed in Gazcue and the Colonial City of Santo Domingo and some beach sites. Dominican actors and actresses, Nuryn Sanlley, Carolina Noble, Flor Bethania Abreu, Ivan Garcia and Frank Alfonseca have joined foreigners Andy Mendez and Danish Iben Hjejle for the starring roles. Some 250 actors and actresses are performing in the film. The film tells the story of a little boy that lives a protected life at the time of the Cuban Castro revolution. The film is described as a "Cuban Cinema Paradiso."
