The Board of Directors of the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel) took their case to the Supreme Court of Justice. They are requesting an urgent opinion on their immovable status as per the law that created the department. Indotel board also requested that President-elect Hipólito Mejia reserve any decision regarding appointment of new members until the Supreme Court issues a judgement if this does not happen before 16 August when his term begins. President-elect Hipólito Mejía has said he will remove president of Indotel, lawyer Mariano German, appointed by President Leonel Fernandez at the end of his term.
