Hacker free without bail

As reported in the List?n Diario, the alleged hacker of the List?n Diario website, Hamlet Paul?s Montol?o, was set free without bail by the magistrate of the Tenth Penal Court of the National District, Rafael Pacheco. Judge Pacheco set the date for the hearing on 5 August, in order to give the lawyers time to study and prepare their defense. Paul?s Montol?o, who works at the Banco de Reservas as an IT vulnerability analyst, was set free by virtue of Article 53 of Law 61-32 on expression and diffusion of thoughts, which does not mandate prison sentences for these types of acts. The man spent two weeks virtually incommunicado, and faces the accusations that he was the hacker who defaced the homepage of the List?n Diario.
