Executives of the Dominican Chamber of Construction (Camara Dominicana de Construccion) announced yesterday the coming celebration of the II International Construction Fair. The event is slated for Santo Domingo, 11-15 October at the grounds of the Feria Ganadera. Diego de Moya, president of the organization highlighted, upon making the announcement, that the DR has the largest consumption per capita of cement in the world. He said this is due to the continuing boom in construction in the DR. In 1999, he said the government invested RD$6,000 million in construction works, and the private sector invested RD$21,000 million.
