Alburquerque re-elected to preside Senate

Ramón Alburquerque (PRD-Monte Plata) successfully maneuvered to re-elect himself for third consecutive year at the helm of the Senate. He defeated his opponent, Rafael Abinader, (PRD-Santiago). Yesterday, the Senate announced the replacements of several senators that will be taking jobs in government. These are: Senator of Santo Domingo Milagros Ortiz Bosch (Vice President of the Republic): To be replaced by Jose Antonio Najri Senator of Samana Milton Ray Guevara (Minister of Labor): To be replaced by Ramiro Espino Vicente Sanchez Baret (Director of Customs House): To be replaced by Pedro Luna Fernando Alvarez Bogaert (Minister of Finances): To be replaced by Cesar Matías
