President Mejía takes government to Azua

President Hipólito Mejía held his first government session in Azua, a southwestern province. There he announced the construction of a modern public hospital and that he would make RD$55 million available for farming in the region. He also announced his government would rebuild 30 schools, repair streets and rural roads. He declared that Azua would host the next national student games. He also announced the opening of a technical school to prepare plumbers, and farm technicians. On the other hand, he urged that the municipality control the growth of the city. He criticized the municipal government for using its money to increase salaries and urged that city government officers work more in favor of the community.
