Following a four-hour meeting, the Federación Nacional de Transportistas Dominicanos (Fenatrado) and the Consejo Nacional de la Empresa Privada (Conep) ended the impasse that affected operations at Haina Port. Elena Villeya, vice president of CONEP said that the differences were overcome. "Basically, the business community backs freedom to contract services, supports that the owner of the cargo can transport it, and Fenatrado is just another option," she told the press.
