The Listin Diario reports that Arthur Valdez, head of the marketing and technology of the Organizing Committee, is hard at work to try to attract the US basketball "Dream Team". Valdez says that if the Dream Team would come, the country would be able to command more money for the television rights of the 2003 Santo Domingo Pan Am Games. Valdez made the request to the US Olympic Team during the visit of a Pan Am Games organizer team delegation to Colorado. "We have requested that they send their best athletes which will make the Games more attractive," he said. He acknowledged he hasn’t gotten a yes, but says that we still have three years to convince the Americans.
