According to a report from the Chamber of Accounts on budget expenditures in 2002, RD$3.08 billion had been allotted for the Presidency in 2002. Instead, the government spent RD$7.08 billion. The report establishes that the Presidency had a RD$1.38-billion allotment for its payroll, but that these wages accounted for RD$3.02 billion in expenditures.
