Many hotels are offering special deals for the 2-6 November long weekend. On Monday, 6 November, Constitution Day will be celebrated in the DR. Most businesses and schools will take the day off. The long weekend is seen as the last time for Dominicans to enjoy the resorts, as come the winter season, it is difficult to get a reservation. Several of the programs allow up to two free children if staying in the same room with two adults. Some of the special hotel package rates that are available only to residents in the DR are: Portillo (Samana) is selling double rooms for RD$750 (all included) per person. Coral Hotels is offering packages of RD$1,045 in Boca Chica, RD$995 in Bayahibe and RD$895 per person in Juan Dolio. Casa de Campo is promoting special plans with a free golf cart. Metro in Juan Dolio is going for RD$825 all included. In Bavaro, the lowest cost packages are at the new LTI Punta Cana that is going for RD$785, and Bavaro Beach is selling for RD$875. Bahia Principe in Rio San Juan (North Coast) is selling for RD$750. Amhsa Marina’s popular Casa del Mar is going for RD$895 in Bayahibe. (19 October 2000)
