The director of the Hospital Luis Eduardo Aybar alerted that there has been an alarming increases in cases of colon cancer in the DR. He said that not a day goes by without the Gastroenterology Center of the hospital, the leading public center for this type of ailment, diagnosing a case of colon cancer. Dr. Jose Bonnet said that while in the past men of 50-60 years were affected, they are seeing more cases of men in their 30s. He said that the wide acceptance of Dominicans to fast food store fare has made the situation worse for the Dominican diet and health. He said that as a result, Dominicans are every day eating more and more fried and fatty foods.
