Police arrested a Cuban national, Simon Mu?oz Diaz, and two Dominican women, Celeste Polanco Castillo and Ana Yocasta Sanchez, in a raid on a house in an undisclosed neighborhood of the capital yesterday, and charged them with the production and distribution of counterfeit currency. A search of the premises produced 173 thousand peso notes which police identified as forgeries. Police stated that the two women are the ?concubines? of two notorious counterfeiters, Rafael Brito Santana and Roberto Garcia Balbuena, both serving jail sentences in the Najayo Prison. The notes, which were produced on a high-resolution laser printer, have turned up in stores in Santo Domingo and San Cristobal in recent months. Police spokesman Nelson Rosario characterized the fake bills as ?good work,? lacking only in ?high relief.?
