U.S. takes bowling championship

A foursome from the U.S. took first place in the World Youth Bowling Championship, which concluded this weekend in Santo Domingo. Derek Sapp, Nathan Bohr, David Haynes and Scott Norton, beat teams from thirty-five competing nations with an overall score of 5,013 pins, equally a record-setting 247-pin average for the total number of games played. Korean Kim Jae-Hoon, with a score of 3,947 pins achieved the best individual performance in the masculine division. American Kelly Kulick took the feminine division individual laurels with a score 1,366 pins.  (7 November 2000)
