The Dominican Electricity Corporation announced the start of the tender for the construction of 138-kilowatt transmission lines in the Northwest and the North. The idea is to guarantee stable voltage for Puerto Plata, Navarette and the Santiago free zone. Martín Robles, in charge of the transmission division of the CDE, said that a global investment of US$450 million is needed to be made in the next five years to improve transmission of power throughout the nation. Eight companies are participating in the first tender for the transmission lines.
