While Thanksgiving is not a Dominican tradition, it is an excuse for family and friends to gather. Those having an American friend will gather to take part in the US feast, but many restaurants and take-out food places are also advertising turkey Dominican-style. Among the businesses vying for Thanksgiving customers are La Esquina de Texas (takeout), the Caribbean Blue Restaurant in the Colonial City, the Santo Domingo Country Club (a social club), and the Hotel V Centenario Inter Continental. In Santiago, the Centro Español social club and the Don Cristóbal Restaurant of the Hodelpa Gran Almirante are also promoting their Thanksgiving Dinner.
