El Caribe newspaper highlights how the new increases in propane gas and diesel have resulted in increases in the fares charged by "conchos" or multi-fare paying taxis. Conchos on short routes are now charging RD$5, up from RD$4 and minibuses are charging RD$6, up from RD$5. OMSA buses continue to charge RD$3 for their long routes.
