Pedro Martinez may get his dream of winning a Major League Championship. The Boston Red Sox reportedly reached a US$160 million eight year agreement with Cleveland Indians’ slugger Manny Ramírez. Ramírez will join fellow Dominicans José Offerman, Wilton Veras and Manny Alexander on the Boston roster. Pedro Martínez, a strong promoter of the signing of Ramírez, says that the news made him happier than winning the Cy Young award earlier this year. 28-year old Manny Ramírez hit .351 last season with 38 homers and 122 TBI in 439 at-bats. He has a .313 career average. In the last three years, only fellow Dominican Sammy Sosa (437) has driven in more runs than Ramírez’s 432.
