El Siglo newspaper points out that the slow down in the economy of the United States will definitely have an effect on the Dominican Republic. The newspaper points out that real gross domestic product (the output of goods and services produced by labor and property located in the United States) increased at an annual rate of 2.2% in the third quarter of 2000, according to revised estimates released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis of the US Department of Commerce.
