National Council of Free Zones has approved the construction of a new industrial free zone in Villa Mella, north of Santo Domingo. The new park, Parque Industrial El Puerto, will go up near the La Isabela Airport that is under construction. Promoters say the 52,000 square meter industrial park will create 7,000 new jobs.
