The Dominican Government initiated works to widen the John F. Kennedy Avenue to ten lanes. Construction began on the south part of the avenue that after its crossing with Winston Churchill Avenue is known as the Duarte Highway. An additional lane will be added to each of the sides of the avenue. The government also began this week the reconstruction of the Gustavo Mejía Ricart Avenue.
