Sammy Sosa hit his 41st homer yesterday. The home run was hit with bases full. Sosa is near the most home runs for a Latin American ball player, 47 in a season, in the hands of Juan González, Andres Galarraga and George Bell. Sosa is now only the 17th player in the history of the Major Leagues to connect a grand slam on two consecutive days. His 41 home runs are a personal record for the slugger. In 1996 he hit 40. George Bell, playing with the Blue Jays in Toronto in 1987, holds the record for most home runs in a season for a Dominican.
