Hillary Clinton visit DR

International press reports indicate that First Lady of the United States, Hillary Clinton will travel to Central America this month, making a side trip to the Dominican Republic and Haiti. She will travel accompanied by the wife of U.S. Vice President Al Gore, Tipper Gore. She is scheduled to visit Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, countries devastated by the waters of Hurricane Mitch, as of 16 November. Press reports indicate that the US government is concerned that the devastation in Central America will bring about a significant increase in the migration of Central Americans to Mexico and the United States. Press reports say she will also make short visits to the Dominican Republic and Haiti, countries affected to a much lesser degree by Hurricane Georges. Mrs. Clinton had been scheduled to visit Santo Domingo at the end of September, but canceled her trip when Hurricane Georges hit the country.
