The Direccion de Prisiones (department of prisons) confiscated five air-conditioners and a satellite dish at the Najayo Jail of San Cristobal. In a surprise visit, the department fired warden Fabiola Gutierrez, who had allowed the privileges, and replaced her privisionally with Abraham Pimentel. The director of the prisons department, Colonel Manuel de Jesus Perez Sanchez, said that the air conditioners would be returned to the relatives of those in jail. He said that prison regulations prohibit such privileges as the use of the air-conditioners and a satellite dish. The Direccion Nacional de Control de Drogas, the drug control department, also participated in the 6 am raid on the jail, searched the cells but only found a bottle of whisky.
