Ambassador of France Francois-Xavier Deniau said French investment is up to US$400 million in the DR. Consolidated investments in tourism, telecommunications and trade have taken place in recent years. Accor (hotels), France Telecom (telecommunications) and Carrefour (shopping mall) recently have opened operations in the DR. (18 September 2000)
