President Hipolito Mejia was present at the formal opening of the 50-room Hotel Las Caobas in the northcentral city of San Francisco de Macorís. A Rancho Steak House restaurant is on the premises. The hotel is located in the Urbanizacion Almanzar, Los Ciruelitos, San Francisco and is said to be San Francisco’s first full service hotel. (30 January 2001)
