The director of the Gregorio Luperon International Airport in Puerto Plata, Michael Nicolaa announced that works would commence this month on the revamping of the Puerto Plata airport runway. He said Aerodom would be investing RD$20 million in the rehabilitation of the runway. The runway is three kilometers long. Of these 1.3 kilometers will be reconditioned. He said the work will be carried out from 11 pm to 7 am to not interrupt normal flight operations. (16 February 2001)
