Hapag Lloyd, the German airline, discontinued its flights to the Dominican Republic on 30 April. The airline had two flights to Punta Cana and one to Puerto Plata. The decision was motivated by the decline in the number of German travelers making long haul trips. However, US travel is filling the void left by the drop in German travelers.
