Berlin Mayor Klaus Wowereit visited the Dominican stand at the world?s largest travel fair, ITB in Berlin, Germany. Wowereit told Minister of Tourism Felix Jimenez, who presided over the stand, that he would visit the Dominican Republic in the near future. The Ministry of Tourism reported that 15 hotel chains and 10 tour operator companies were part of the Dominican 300-square meter stand in Berlin from 11 to 15 March.
A Dominican night and a gala dinner at Hotel Palace Berlin were held, in addition to a press conference.
Last year some 233,090 German tourists visited, according to the Ministry of Tourism. The Ministry expects more to come this year.
