President Leonel Fernandez was present to hear the plans for the Las Terrenas Country Club presented last night at the Occidental Hotel Embajador. The project is going up in northeastern Samana Province at a cost of US$120 million, according to the promotors. Construction will happen in two phases on a 1,200 hectare-plot of land, according to the president of the project, Joan Giacinti. The second phase of the project will be completed in 2007. Giacinti indicated that the golf course will comply with international and environmental regulations and will have a privileged geographic location.
