Beyonce visits Casa de Campo

Beyonce Knowles joins the long list of rich and famous names who are choosing to vacation in the Dominican Republic. The Grammy Award-winning American rhythm and blues singer, songwriter and record producer is also riding the wave of the country’s new popularity with Americans. Beyonce recently vacationed at Casa de Campo, and as reported in Listin Diario, she enjoyed her stay so much that she accepted an offer to perform at Altos de Chavon amphitheater this coming September. A precise date has not been booked yet, according to the Chavon management. She toured the east of the country on helicopter. Beyonce rose to fame as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child, the best-selling female group of all time. She later went solo, debuting with “Dangerously in Love” in 2003. Her most recent album, “B’Day,” released on the occasion of her 25th birthday, is nominated for five 2007 Grammy Awards.

“Irreplaceable” from the CD began this year at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for a fifth week in a row.

Last week, the New York Post Page 6 gossip column reported that American rapper JAY-Z and Sammy Sosa were lunching with Beyonce at El Pescador Restaurant at Casa de Campo, then smoking cigars and throwing a football.
