JetBlue returns to Santo Domingo

JetBlue Airways has announced the expansion of its Caribbean service with the launch of a new non-stop flight between Santo Domingo’s Las Americas International Airport and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport this spring. Twice-daily flights begin on 24 May 2007. An introductory one-way fare of US$109 plus taxes and charges is available. This represents a comeback for the airline that served Santo Domingo between 2004 and 2005 when it first began flights to the DR. The airline has maintained its Santiago flight. Santo Domingo becomes JetBlue’s 53rd destination, and one of nine cities it flies to in the Caribbean.

“Que mucho te extranamos, Santo Domingo! We’re thrilled to be returning to your beautiful city this spring,” said JetBlue founder and CEO David Neeleman. “The Dominican community has been one of our biggest supporters since we started our service to the island in 2004. We brought low fares and great service, and they gave us their loyalty. This is our way of saying ‘thanks’.”

JetBlue’s schedule between New York and Santo Domingo brings more comfortable flying times, with JFK to SDQ flights departing at 7:30am and 12:05pm.
