Ritz Carlton is the fourth international luxury brand to claim the eastern coastline of the DR, on the footsteps of the Westin Roco Ki, Trump Farallon Estates and Four Seasons Casa de Campo.
Global powerhouse The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company announced a two-fold partnership with Cap Cana on Monday, 17 September. The 220-room Ritz Carlton Cap Cana includes a 16,000 square-foot spa and five gourmet restaurants. The company will also be offering 194-privately owned beachfront and golf Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Cap Cana. The Ritz-Carlton venues are scheduled to open in early 2010 and are part of a two-phase US$1 billion endeavor (real estate sales and construction).

Marriott Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of Marriott International expressed, “Cap Cana has envisioned an exciting, bold luxury tourism and real estate development project that promises to be one of the most exciting new destinations in the Caribbean. We are excited that our Ritz-Carlton brand will be represented at Cap Cana and are hopeful that one or more of our other hotel brands will also fit in with Cap Cana’s plans for this world-class destination”.
In the Caribbean region, Ritz Carlton operates hotels in Cancun, Cayman, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, Turks & Caicos and the US Virgin Islands, as well as in the Bahamas.
