The sun is back out

The sun is again shining in the Dominican Republic, as the last
remnants of the tropical wave that piggy-backed on Tropical Storm
Noel leave the country. The storm primarily flooded areas near large
river beds, in the southwest and northeastern parts of the country.
With the exception of cancelled excursions due to the downpours,
tourism in the destinations of Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Samana, La
Romana-Bayahibe, and others was not affected. An area feeling the
brunt was Barahona-Pedernales, where relief brigades are at work
restoring road communication. The sun was already shining in the East
on Wednesday, and this weekend hotels are expected to be booked with
domestic tourism for the Constitution Day long weekend.
