Four small theaters in Colonial City

There are four small theater houses with ongoing programs in Santo Domingo’s Colonial City. Listin Diario reports that together they have become a kind of circuit for drama and comedy lovers. The first opened in 1974 at Casa de Teatro at Arz. Merino 110. This 200-person hall was followed by smaller theaters for less than 100 persons when the Teatro de Arte de Santo Domingo opened the La Cuarta, Espacio Teatral at the fourth floor of a building at El Conde and Calle Sanchez. The next is Las Mascaras, where Lidia Ariza and Germana Quintana hold weekly performances. Teatro Guloya moved to the Colonial City and is now located at Arq. Portes 120.
