The Puerto Plata Merengue Festival, sponsored by the Brugal rum company, will take place over the weekend of 25, 26 and 27 September at the La Puntilla end of Puerto Plata Malecon, the Atlantic oceanfront boulevard, near the Fortaleza San Felipe. The bill includes performances by Fernando Villalona, Krubanda and El Ciego de Nagua. The Ministry says they hope that a total of 12 bands will be performing live under the stars.
