Dominican Ariel Corniel won the 9th Kiteboarding 2010 World Cup in the competition that took place at Bozo Beach, Cabarete over the weekend with the participation of 52 competitors from 20 countries. The 18-year old defeated world champion Kevin Langeree in the finals. Langeree is a previous Cabarete Cup winner. In third place was Italian Alberto Rondina. In the women’s competition, Spain’s Gisela Pulido, three times world kite boarding champion, won the Cabarete 2010 Cup defeating Johana Litwin from Poland. Third place went to Karolina Winkowska of Poland, and fourth to Brazilian champion Bruna Kajiya.
This is Ariel Corniel’s first world kiteboarding title. This annual event is organized by the Professional Kiteboard Riders Association.
