Boca Chica is preparing for its Carnaval del Mar, an event to showcase the diversity of events that focus on the beach and Caribbean Sea. There will be gastronomical, sports, and music events. Once a small fishing village, Boca Chica has diversified to the point of becoming the country’s leading sailing center, with the Optimist World Championships set for July 2012. The carnival will have a show with Marcos Caminero, Roldan Marmol, and merengue band Diomedes y su Grupo Mio, on Saturday, 24 March.
