The southwestern province of Bani is famous for its mid-June Mango Festival. Now mango producers in the Dominican Republic, with the backing of USAID and the Mango Cluster have organized the First Mango Festival in Bayahibe, the beach town in La Romana tourist destination. There will be tastings of around 20 varieties of mangos, and resorts in the town are cooking with mangos to delight their guests with something exotic and very Caribbean. Mango producers are bringing truckloads of mangos for the enjoyment of the people of La Romana and tourists staying in the destination.
