Centro Leon celebrates its 10th year with Duarte exhibit

The leading Santiago museum, the Centro Leon has chosen to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Dominican Republic’s main founding father, Juan Pablo Duarte, with an exhibition that also commemorates its own 10th anniversary. The exhibition will run from Thursday 3 October to Tuesday 31 December 2013. “Duarte. Collective Visions in Related Spaces” features more than 25 works by Dominicans living in the DR and abroad (Colectivo Dominican York-Proyecto Grafica). The exhibition originally went on show in the Bronx Museum of the Arts in New York in February 2013.

The exhibit commemorates the Centro Leon’s 10th anniversary. On Sunday 6 October, there will be a big party with top merengue bands. From Friday 4 to Sunday 6 October, admission to the Centro Leon will be free.
