Central Electoral Board (JCE) Official Commission chairman Cesar Feliz has announced the start of an audit of the 60,869 birth records of foreigners since 1929 to comply with Constitutional Court Ruling 168-13.
The ruling allows for a year to carry out the audit that could be extended for another year. Two hundred and twenty people will work on the audit across the country.
The audit is part of the government initiative to legalize and document all residents in the Dominican Republic.
