The mother of Wandy Sanchez, the 15-year old youth accused by the Police of killing police agent Mercedes del Carmen Torres Baez lamented the death of her son, saying that she had been given two days to deliver her son when she was arrested for questioning. But her son was shot in less than 24 hours.
The Police accused 21-year old Juan Carlos de la Cruz Adames and 15-year old Wandy Sanchez were responsible for killing Torres Baez. The Police said that Sanchez was shot by the police in what has been described as “crossfire.” Cruz Adames is still on the run.
El Dia reports today, Monday 2 June, that it is part of an unwritten code that whoever kills a Police agent is signing his own death warrant.
The Police reports that 14 members of the force have been killed this year, most by criminals seeking to steal their service firearms.
