Piantini appointed UNCTAD board vice chair

The Dominican permanent representative to the World Trade Organization in Geneva was elected deputy chairman of the UNCTAD Trade and Development Board for 2014-2015 during the 61st work session taking place in Geneva from 15-26 September 2014. Piantini is a former chairman of the board (2010-11).

Piantini is the Permanent Representative of the Dominican Republic to the World Trade Organization and Economic Organizations in Geneva.

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is the UN body responsible for dealing with development issues. Piantini has also served as vice governor of the Central Bank in the Dominican Republic (1994-2003).
