Now is the time to book for the Pro Cigar Festival that takes cigar fans on a journey to discover why the Dominican Republic is the world’s leading cigar exporter.
The Festival is a time for participants to learn about what makes a good cigar, as well as taking part in a great variety of leisure and entertainment activities, and of course indulge in smoking premium cigars. Procigar Festival 2015 brings together cigar manufacturers, retailers and consumers from 15 to 20 February.
The festival will take place at Casa de Campo, one of the Caribbean’s most exclusive resorts, and in Santiago, also known as the “Cigar Capital of the World.”
The program of activities starts in Casa de Campo, the golf Mecca in La Romana province on the country’s southeast coast, where participants will visit Tabacalera de Garcia, and have plenty of beach time. They can even take part in a beach Olympics.
Next, the group heads to the cigar capital of the world, Santiago de los Caballeros, about 160 miles from La Romana where optional tours include visits to factory and tobacco fields supplying the following manufacturers:
General Cigar, Davidoff, Quesada Cigars, La Aurora, Corporacion Cigar Export, Tabacalera La Alianza-EP Carrillo, La Flor Dominicana, Tabacalera Palma and the Fuente Foundation.
There will be time next for enjoying the north coast’s top attractions, including a trip to the Damajagua waterfalls, catamaran sailing, and a charity poker tournament. During the festival celebration, participants will also enjoy the best the Dominican Republic has to offer in music, cultural events and hospitality.
At night, all guests will gather for the best premium smokes, but also for gala dinners, premium drinks, tasting local cuisine, dancing to Latin beats and enjoying the warmth of Dominican hospitality.
The festival brings together writers from some of the world’s leading cigar-related magazines including Cigar Aficionado, Smoke & Smokeshop, Tobacconist, Cigar Magazine, European Cigar Journal, Cigar Clan, Cigar Report, Cigar Ambassador, L’Amateur Du Cigarre, La Boutique de El Fumador, Epicur and Florida Cigar Snob.
